Eager for answers, Holly enrolls at a boarding school for highly gifted students in Wolfebane, New Hampshire. But things will get worse before they get better, as Holly accidentally transports to a parallel existence where she's confronted by a dark and ancient evil.

GUEST POST
FICTION STRANGER THAN
FACT
I’m a
sucker for research books, so a few years ago I bought a big hardcover book
titled Mysteries of the World-Unexplained Wonders and Mysterious Phenomena.
This
book sat on my shelf for a while, until the idea for SCION OF THE SUN popped
into my head one day. Then I opened this book and…strands of the plot unfolded
before my eyes.
Once I
started researching Celtic mythology online, I discovered more and more plot
points until my head was spinning.
One of
these plot points involved Newgrange (An LiamhGreine in Irish, meaning cave of
the sun.)
And
right there, I had THE place for the confrontation between good and evil in my
story.
On one
day a year, winter solstice, sunlight enters a shaft in the cave, travels along
a passageway and ends at a stone block covered in spirals.
What if
that stone was an altar?
What if
those spirals meant something?
What if
Newgrange wasn’t in Ireland but in Eiros, NYC’s Innerworld that Holly teleports
to?
The
more questions I asked, the more my plot shimmered to life before my eyes.
Holly
is bound to the sun god Belenus. She needs to defeat the Lord of Darkness.
So what
if he lived in permanent darkness, banished there by the light? Or in this
case, the sun god Holly is bound to?
Every
fact, every idea, every snippet of information blended to help me unfold the
story of Holly, the Scion of the sun.
